Steps in the fabrication of the prosthesis

Digital phases

The 3-D scanner takes hundreds of photos which are assembled by a computer. Using this technique, the patient’s face can be viewed from every angle.

We thus obtain images of the complete face which are processed by 3-D software

Images of the natural ear or orbital region enable us to make an exact inverse copy (mirror image).

The model of the prosthesis is then printed out in resin with a 3-D printer. The patient’s face, which will act as a model to position the prosthesis, is also printed out in resin.
